Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller - $78 New For those of you looking for a brake controller, I found one at http://www.etrailer.com/pc-IA~90185.htm for $98 and there is a $20 mail in mfg rebate (til 8/25 i believe). I bought mine Monday night, and it was here Wednesday with the super save shipping ($5)
This is the cheapest that I have seen it. Most sites have it listed for $130+ or so.
Now, if i only had a trailer to tow....
Anyways, just thought i would share.

A trailer purchase is only a credit card swipe away!

Shawn,
Have you got yours installed yet?
gid- 08-24-2007
It is installed, but I may have to move it. The owner's manual says to mount it at least 12" from a CB, but mine is closer than that so i may have to relocate it.

installed mine 2day
no worky :?
gid- 08-26-2007
Define No worky? I just plugged mine in, and the correct n.c. (not connected) was displayed. I could also set the boost. I don't have a trailer (yet) so i can't tow anything and see if the braking actually works. The nice thing about the prodigy, is it has a lifetime limited warranty, but If i were you, i would contact etrailer first.

with the trailer hooked up it reads NC then it will read C then on off/on/off
it will not stay in the C
i have played with this thing now for 5 hours :x
not a happy camper right now
gid- 08-26-2007
That does suck...are you sure all your connections are sound? (sorry but i had to ask...)
gid- 08-26-2007
Just as an FYI, I checked google to see if anyone else had similar issues. Only thing i could find is Touareg owners have issues due to the complexity of that braking system, but I somehow doubt, you are wiring it into a Touareg...
I know that does nothing for you now, but it doesn't seem to be a common problem that prodigy owners face.
Techtafab- 08-29-2007
found the prob.
pulled the drums of the trailer and the wires going to the magnet
where broke off
thats for the help
gid- 08-29-2007
Well, i didn't really do anything, but no problem...;). Glad it worked out for you.
Techtafab- 08-29-2007
oh buddy i have brakes now :D
gid- 09-26-2007
Ok, solved the lack of trailer problem by actually buying one...:D. Should be ready by this Friday, though I probably won't be able to get it until Saturday or worst case, early next week...:(
It is a 14' (12+2) dove tail car hauler from branson trailers. It will have brakes on both axles, and ramps that pull out and store from the rear...
Anyways, i guess i can finally test out my new controller...
